B Meets & Exhibition Swim

B Meets

The Piranhas participate in Monday night meets as a part of the Western Fairfax Developmental League (WFDL).  Monday night meets are not scored and focus primarily on swimmer development.  All swim team members may sign up to swim and are encouraged to do so.  B Meets are a great opportunity to experience what a swim meet is like, to fine tune technique learned in practice and to drop time.  Lollipop races are offered at some B meets for Junior Piranhas.  Communication will be sent to Junior Piranha parents when a Lollipop race will be offered.

What is an Exhibition (X) Event?

Exhibition events are offered in Monday B meets and are for swimmers who achieved a particular place in a Saturday A meet.

If a swimmer places first in a Saturday event (excluding relays), all strokes in a Monday B meet will be in Exhibition events.

If a swimmer places 2nd or 3rd in a particular stroke on Saturday, only that stroke will be Exhibition in a Monday B meet.

Exceptions to this rule are limited, but can apply. Keep in mind that events are often merged in a B meet to help it move faster. It is possible that a non-exhibition swimmer will be placed in an exhibition event. If that happens, the non-exhibition swimmer will still receive a place ribbon, depending on their finish.
