We strongly encourage parents to download the app and turn on notifications to receive alert push notifications.
Practice Expectations
Practice Expectations for Swimmers
- Swimmers are expected to be ready to jump in to practice at the start time. This means that swim caps and goggles are on and swimmers have taken their place at the assigned lane. Late arrivals and slow starts impact the coaches ability to run an impactful and beneficial practice.
- Swimmers are expected to listen to any and all coaching direction. This happens most efficiently and effectively when chatter is kept to a minimum and when swimmers keep their heads above water when at the wall between practice sets.
- During morning practice, the pool is closed to all patrons who are not actively engaged in swim practice. This means that all team swimmers must exit the pool at the conclusion of their practice, unless otherwise directed by coaching staff.
- Swimmers should be respectful of those around them and not distract from their ability to be coached, either by talking or "horsing around".
- Swimmers are expected to be positive role models to fellow team mates and should therefore refrain from using foul language.
- Most importantly, swimmers should be respectful of their coaches and should not engage in back talk or be overly contrarian when given instructions.
Practice Expectations for Parents/Caregivers
- All Junior Piranha and 10&u swimmers must have a parent/caregiver on the deck during practice.
- Parents/caregivers (and siblings) should remain in seating areas away from the direct vicinity of the practice lanes. This helps swimmers remain focused on the coaches, helps to maintain a safe water environment and allows for practices which are beneficial in meeting team and personal swim goals.
- Coaches are not available to discuss parent concerns during practice times. If you have a concern during practice, please bring it to the attention of someone on the swim team board (at least one board member attends each practice). If the matter is coaching related, we will communicate the matter to the coach.
- During morning practice, the pool is closed to all patrons who are not actively engaged in swim practice. This means that siblings are unable to make use of the main pool and baby pool. Parents/caregivers are expected to keep a watchful eye on siblings to ensure they do not enter the water.
